Jouer avec Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier’s Carpenter center has a peculiar relationship with its surroundings and ground. Its composition is made up of a series of objects, linked together by a highway-like on-ramp. With its deliberate estrangement from the ground, the building as a whole presents itself in a utopic condition within its surrounding landscape.
Although its parts are infinitely replicable in the modernist tradition, these parts must be contained within a boundary in order to maintain its utopic reading. This condition was found to be very much alike a trainset - perhaps Le Corbusier’s carpenter center acts as a perfect basis for a modernist playset.
