In 2058, significant advances in diplomatic relations between the United States, Mexico, and Cuba have led to revisions of thei free trade agreements to facilitate greater economic growth of all three countries.

With significant developments in both international relations and transportation technology, a vac-train super-highway catering to passengerand freight transport links the three countries together, approximately 450 miles/725 kilometers, in segments.

In an intermediate location within the Gulf of Mexico, a floating artificial island addresses civilian traffic between countries, freight imports and exports, as well as facilities for international trade through cargo ship and air freight.
